Who we are:
ROYAL UGLY DUDE - founded in summer 2021 by experienced guitarist and songwriter Pascal Töngi - is anything but slick.
Shortly after the band was founded, drummer Pascal Stössel joined the band and the band room in Bremgarten AG was moved into, furnished and transformed into a loud, honest breeding ground for dirty riffs and thundering grooves.
After an intensive search, bassist Sascha Müller joined the band in the summer of 2022. With him, the power trio was complete - ready to give the scene a breath of fresh air and plenty of oomph.
During this time, Pascal Töngi wrote the first dozen songs - raw, driving and straight to the point. Demos were recorded and now they are working flat out on the live version. The official baptism of fire on stage will take place in June 2023 at the Bremgarten town festival - loud, wild and unadorned.
But the dudes are not resting on their laurels: In December 2023, it's off to the studio to hammer out the first album.
ROYAL UGLY DUDE deliver a fat mixture of old school heavy metal, spiced up with excursions into hard and punk rock. Genre boundaries? Fuck that. Variety, energy and joy of playing are in the foreground.
And the most important thing: the band doesn't take itself too seriously - their lyrics are bursting with humor, self-irony and a wink. Metal doesn't always have to be grim - sometimes it can just be really groovy.
